Eating according to Chinese medicine and the 5 elements (water, wood, fire, earth, metal); nature and our body are one; we need to consider this for a healthy body and mind. Dr. Jeff will address issues around eating within seasons, sweet versus sour, yin or yang, what element is your body, is your body imbalanced or is it in excess.

 

In the body, all five elements are represented because they correspond to the five major organs: kidneys, liver, heart, stomach and lungs.  Usually one is stronger than the other, and one is slightly deficient.  One of the most important ways to create balance in the body is to choose to eat more foods which strengthen and replenish the elements in which we are deficient.

Qi Gong is an ancient praactice that has been practiced by the people of China for centuries to maintain Health and create Longevity. Dating back more than 5000 years, this practice has evolved into many different "forms".

 

Medical Studies of Qi Gong conducted by universities in the U.S. are showing Qi Gong to be very effective in creating Balance, thus helping to prevent falls.  It is also effective for CardioPulmonary disorders and intestinal problems.  It is used to minimize Chronic Pain.  It is effective in treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Migraine Headaches.  In China, Qi Gong is incorporated in the treatment of cancer, helping patients recover from chemotherapy and minimize treatments. Qi Gong is also excellent for Stress Reduction and Hypertension.

 

Qi Gong exercise routine consists of simple movements combined with breathing patterns and performed a few minutes per day.  When done on a daily basis, these simple movements can make profound changes in your Body, Mind and Spirit. Qi Gong moves each joint and uses every muscle in your body, and provides a massage for all your internal organs and stimulates the glands.

This workshop is geared toward the practitioner; to assist them in the management of internal health and longevity. Often practitioners are the healers and givers and very seldom is time dedicated to assist them to manage their own health and sanity.

 

Investing in one's health is the best gift to give to oneself.

These workshops will focus on how to deal with energy depletion to assist the healers to manage, maintain and strengthen healing ability and guard personal health with energy promoting exercises.

Exercise routines from meditation, qi gong, breathing, posture etc. will be addressed.
